Antioxidants combat oxidative stress. Oxidation is the toxic burn byproduct that releases free radicals into our body to wreak havoc. These free radicals steal electrons from healthy cells and rapidly increase the aging process.
Lipoic Acid helps protect female reproductive organs and increases sperm quality and mobility. Lipoic Acid regenerates all other antioxidants and can reverse some of the damage of smoking.
Vitamin E increases sperm health and mobility. Vitamin E prevents oxidative damage to red blood cells, and is regenerated by CoQ10
Antioxidant Rich Roasted Veggie Salad
2 Handfulls spinach
1 Beet with greens
5 Asparagus spears
Separate the beet greens from the beets. Slice and peel beet and carrot. Snap hard stems from the asparagus, then cut in half. Toss beets, carrots, and asparagus in olive oil and desired seasonings. Roast for 20 min, flipping half way through.
In a bowl combine beet greens, spinach and roasted veggies. Toss with vinaigrette dressing, and garnish with avocado.
Why Antioxidants work best as a network
When an antioxidant disarms a free radical it becomes sacrificed unless another antioxidant comes along and rejuvenates it. Every antioxidant has antioxidants which can regenerate the spent antioxidant.
Lipoic Acid can be regenerated by itself and can regenerate all of the other antioxidants
Vitamin C is regenerated by Vitamin E, Glutathione and Lipoic Acid
Vitamin E is regenerated by Vitamin C, CoQ10 and Lipoic acid
Glutathione is regenerated by Lipoic Acid
It is important to get all of these antioxidants into our body on a daily basis. These antioxidants work together helping to protect the body and keep the system filled with antioxidants.
