Meditation is Presence

Meditation is Presence

What is Meditation?

When it comes to meditation, a lot of people think you need to have a clear mind, sit in a quiet/dark room for a certain amount of time or be in a certain position for meditation. The truth is, you can meditate anywhere, doing anything. The key is being present.

My favorite quote is by Eckhart Tolle and it is "One conscious breath in and out is mediation."

Meditation is presence and presence is meditation. Let it be easy! You can meditate anytime, anywhere! You can meditate in a crowded subway!

You can be doing your dishes and be meditating. One of the ways to stay present is by engaging all of your senses with what you are doing. For example, if you are doing dishes... feel the temperature of the water, smell the scent of the dish soap, and listen to the dishes as they clank together.

Another way to meditate is to create space between you and your thoughts. Eckhart Tolle in The Power of Now tells us that just by asking the question "What will my next thought be?" you are creating space between yourself and your thoughts.

I lead a daily meditation where people from all over the world come to meditate and tune in to inner peace. Some people in the daily meditation like to write affirmations, set intentions, write gratitude lists, do yoga, and/or count their conscious breaths - or a combination of all of these things. My invitation no matter what they decide to do during the meditation is to just be present. Making time to just be present assists in the raising of your consciousness and accelerates your spiritual awakening - along with so many other benefits!

How Did it All Start?

In August of 2021 I made the decision to meditate daily. I had gotten away from my daily meditation practice and wanted to re-commit myself to my spiritual practices. Just a couple days after I started meditating again I got an idea while working one afternoon.

"What if I did my meditation on TikTok live?"

I figured the worst-case-scenario is that no one would like to meditate with me. That would be no different than just meditating by myself! The following morning was my first TikTok live Meditate with me + Oracle Cards!

Right away there were a few people who loved what I was offering! Some of my first regulars still come to the class today - almost an entire year later! As time went on more and more people would come to the live. We now have SO many regulars and a beautiful community has bloomed from my single intention of daily meditation!
